Acupressure Meridian Therapy (AMT)
AMT is a combination of techniques unique to this practice. It features Muscle Response Testing (MRT) to obtain feedback from the body regarding hidden “health stressors” that may be causing problems and acupressure to stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Acupressure is a form of finger pressure massage that improves blood circulation, releases toxins that have built up in the tissues of the body, relaxes muscular tension and enhances the flow of energy through the body.
What is Acupressure Meridian Therapy?
AMT uses the reflex points and meridians of acupuncture to identify blockages in the messages that move from the brain to the body. Think of the body as a complex telecommunications system. Electrical impulses known as the chi in Chinese medicine travel along communication pathways (the meridians) to the reflex points that function as stations along the way and the organs and glands to which they are connected. The brain directs traffic, ensuring that the impulses are guided through the correct station to carry out their mission. When the impulses are blocked, the brain is unable to communicate effectively with the body creating health problems and interfering with the process of healing. Once the nature of the problem has been revealed, gentle stimulation of the affected neurovascular reflex point can be used to remove the blockage and clear the way for a natural resolution of the problem. Other forms of treatment may also be used, when indicated.
The AMT correction process is non-toxic and inexpensive, unlike many drug therapies or long-term nutritional treatments. It is also gentle and pain-free making it an ideal evaluation and treatment option for older adults, people with disabilities and even newborns.
